Before starting her own Consulting and Leadership Coaching practice, Deb Hicks had a distinguished career in Human Resources executive leadership roles, including SVP, Chief People and Culture Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Associate Dean and Chief HR Officer at Harvard Medical School, and Vice President of HR at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Additionally, Hicks was appointed by Massachusetts’ Governor Charlie Baker, to serve as co-chair of his HR transition team. Hicks was awarded the John D. Erdlen Award for demonstrating excellence in HR through her leadership and outstanding contribution to the profession. Hicks currently serves as a mentor for MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service supporting innovations and entrepreneurship at MIT, the Board of Visitors for the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, and has served on a variety of boards. Hicks was past Chairperson of the Board for the Northeast HR Association, as well as past board seats with the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, Employers Against Domestic Violence, the Governor’s Task Force on Unemployment and Workforce Development, and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the DJ Henry Dream Fund. Hicks recently received her Certification from Georgetown University’s Executive and Leadership Coaching, and is a member of the International Federation of Coaches.
